 Downloading data, Exports to Excel
Solution DonorSearch results can be downloaded directly into Excel or CSV files. When the feature is fully implemented, you can choose selected or all the records of a search for downloading or export to Excel.

Ideally, when you click on ALL or SELECTED, you should get a pop-up window that provides you with the option to open the file or to save the file to your local disk drive.
Ideally, when you choose to open the file, Excel should be started automatically and the another window should open with your results.

Depending on your computer and the software that you use, some of these features may already be enabled or you may be able to make the changes or you may need your IT people to enable the feature.

If you use Firefox by Mozilla, this feature will probably work without any changes. We have not any users have a problem with the download feature.

If you use Internet Explorer, try this first:

Open an Internet Explorer Window.
Select the Tools choice
Select the Internet Option menu item
Select the Security tab.
In the bottom right corner, select Custom Levels
In the pop-up screen, scroll past the references to .Net and Active X to a section label downloads
(Note that if you can not see these options, you may need to go to your IT. This option may not be available to the end user.)
At the Download choice for Automatic Prompting for Downloads, please select Enable.
At the Download choice for File Downloads, please select Enable
Choose OK to exit.

Return to DonorSearch and try the download all feature after completing a search. You should be prompted with the pop-up window and have the option to SAVE or OPEN the file directly. If you save the file, you can launch Excel separately, find the file and open it as a spreadsheet.

If you don't get the pop-up window, it is time to speak with IT.
If you get the the pop-up window, but Excel does not automatically open when you choose OPEN, it is again time to speak with IT.

In any case, give us a call if you need assistance during the process or you want to see how it should work or need to have your technical people communicate with ours.
